Cullen's Hound is an eclectic group of very talented musicians based in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I met Woody at an Irish Céilí in 1998. We started to get together periodically to rehearse. We have performed together at community events in Arkansas and Missouri and performed for Wilson's Creek 2000 (a National American Civil War reenactment). Because I am located a good distance from Fayetteville, I don't get to perform with Cullen's Hound as much as I would like.

WOODY WALKER • BOUZOUKI, FIDDLE, CONCERTINA, PSALTERY, GUITAR Woody's interest in British Isles music goes back twenty years. His original interest was classical guitar. He took up bouzouki inspired by the playing of Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny of "Planxty". Woody was fortunate enough to have a wife who was interested in music, and to find other interested musicians in a small city setting. Together they formed the band "Cullen's Hound". Woody and Cullen's Hound have played with Nancy Daily-Green for many performances and helped out on singing, dancing everywhere. Woody works as a computer programmer for a food company. |

DIANNE PHILLIPS • GUITAR, WHISTLE, VOCALS Dianne, of Irish/Scot ancestry, began playing and singing music as a child - harmonica and piano. At the age of 12 she began her classical training on the trumpet, continuing through college. She has always liked Celtic music, but only began playing and singing the music when she joined Cullen's Hound. Dianne's love of music has no boundaries. She performs trumpet with several community bands and ensembles in Northwest Arkansas. Her music is "a gift from God" and she shares her talents with involvement in music ministry as director for St. Joseph's Catholic School band and their teen youth choir, and as an associate music director at the Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Arkansas. Dianne teaches in the Physics Department at the University of Arkansas, where she also studies as a graduate student. She BS and MS degrees in Geology. She has four children and one grandchild. |
